Tips on how to make the best beef tacos

        • The longer you cook your meat, the better the flavour - just make sure you keep the temperature low
        • If the juice looks a little low, add a drop of beef stock and stir
        • Homemade guac and tortillas can really enhance the flavour
        • Build up the spice - if you have a low tolerance, start out low and build up over time
        • Experiment - try changing up what you include, especially with the toppings

        Are these birria tacos?

Our beef taco recipe is based on a birria taco, with stewed beef. The main difference is that birria is typically dipped in the stew, which you can do if you don’t want all your beef in a taco.

Birria tacos are also traditionally a little spicier than ours, perfect if you want to turn up the heat.

        Beef taco FAQs

Can I use minced beef in a beef taco recipe?

Yes, if you don’t have the time to slow-roast a beef shoulder joint, you can use beef mince instead.

What is the best beef taco seasoning?

We recommend a blend of garlic, cumin and chilli with a pinch of salt for a simple yet tasty flavour.

        Are beef tacos healthy?

Despite the delicious flavour, beef tacos are surprisingly healthy. They blend protein and veg. Just go easy on the cheese and sour cream!

How do I store any beef taco leftovers?

If you can’t quite finish your tacos, the beef can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
